Lanvin Pre-Fall 2011

Lanvin's Pre-Fall 2011 shoot involves wild animals. At first you think they are alive (to be fair the first photo i saw involved a bunny), and upon further investigation figure out they are taxidermied. The polarbear was the indicator for this, as it is endangered. The poses for the panther and fox are obviously identicle in every shot. A trained tiger, or baby lion is cute in a shot but to be honest I didn't notice any of the clothing in this campaign, I just though of how sad it is that so many of these animals are dead.
I wear vintage fur, and this shoot probably borrow already dead animals, but its different when one sees animals that are near extinction in a shoot with highly priced garments.
The models were also wearing fur. Disturbing!

Apparently the clothing was inspired by "This isn't about Marilyn Monroe moving to India and having an acid trip" I didnt catch any of that feeling!
What is the point of such a shoot?!

Many of the animals are leashed and being dominated by the models. Is this saying that animals are under our charge and can be converted into tiger shawls and hats?

If they were trying to make a statement why not put a tiger in the same shots as its brother who was made into a garment?! Yes the fur is real. 

Why not use a real bunny and fake fur?
