Designer Highlight: Maximo Riero

All I can say is I WANT!!!!! I would need an incredibly large house to have room for the octopus version. Maximo is a photographer, painter, sculptor, and peot. You can see this renaissance man's pure t

Artist Highlight: Florentijn Hofman

Florentijn Hofman is a Roterdam based artist who creates amazing sculptures of cartoon like figures that are oversized and placed in situations that evoke thought in viewers.

His latest piece is a giant bunny made of locally made shingles, and placed iÖrebro, Sweden, and was meant to challenge peoples perceptions on public space. 





This bear named Steelman, is in Steelman Amsterdam and is 11 feet tall, and made of concrete. 


The "Rubber Duck" is in Osaka Japan. It is an inflatable fellow who was built to help relieve tension and stress by being non discriminant, and has no political connotation.

The Mad Men Effect

Mad men, with 16 Emmy nominations, has become a hit show with compelling characters who OFCOURSE wear incredible clothing. It is easy to see how such sharp suits, and complex lingerie could influence a post economic meltdown ridden world. People were getting bored of simplicity and want new garments to mix and match. Vogue and GQ are showering their editorials in 1960's apparel including  tortoise shell glasses and fedoras. This show has not only influenced the fashion industry, but has influenced new television dramas including Pan Am, and the Playboy

Banana Republic has created an entire collection based off the show, which is self titled, and is selling out fast!
